The Mobile Web refers to the access to wireless data services using a mobile device such as as cell phones, PDAs, and other portable gadgets connected to a mobile telecoms network. Access does not require a desktop computer, nor a fixed landline connection.

The service can be to the traditional World Wide Web or to any one of more limited service platforms such as WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), i-Mode and Blackberry services.

While many think that mobile web or mobile internet means access to the traditional internet using a mobile phone or device, this is not the case. The access can be to the traditional internet, but it can be to less than the internet, as typically is with WAP services, or it can be to more than the internet, to data services that do not even exist on the traditional internet, such as SMS text messaging and ringtones. The mobile web is similar to, but not identical to the traditional internet and World Wide Web.

However, Mobile Web access today still suffers from interoperability and usability problems. This is partly due to the small physical size of the screens of mobile devices and partly due to the incompatibility of many mobile devices with not only computer operating systems, but also the format of much of the information available on the Internet.

How do I Optimize my Web Site for a Specific KEY WORD?

How can I convince the Google robot that my keywords use the word cat and my page is optimized with the word "cat" more than "cats web". I want Google search to list me under the word "cat": I am listed at the number 3 spot on the first page of a Google search if you use the words "cats web" or #1 on the 1st page if you use "cats web page"

I've spent some time thinking about your question before fielding it because I think that there are some basic misunderstandings about how Google works, coupled with some SEO tricks on your site that can get you in trouble and, quite possible, banned from Google entirely.

Let's start with an explanation of how Google works: Google analyzes the content of your Web page -- and remember, Google looks at pages, not sites -- and uses what it calls your "keyword density" as one important factor in calculating how relevant your page is for a given search term.

What is Google Search Engine Optimization?

When a user types in a search phrase into Google, and gets back results, those results are made up of several complex formulas. There is no human involved in the process of evaluating any individual site - it is Math formulas computed from the information that Google Bot gathers from your site.

Google Bot takes a "snapshot" of your web pages. The best way to analyze what Google Bot sees is to combine two items.

1. View the source code. Go to any web page, put your mouse over a blank spot on the page, and right click your mouse. This will bring up a menu. Choose "view source".

2. The second way that Google views your webs site can be found by using this tool. That site also has instructions on how to get your main text to show up first, (as opposed to your navigation bar menu).
